A DAY TRIP WITH CIBIKE TO SANTA CRUZ ISLAND
The Channel Islands Bicycle Club invites all members on a day trip to the Channel Islands National Park. The day will begin with a boat cruise with Island Packers of Ventura starting at the Ventura Harbor and landing at Scorpion Cove on Santa Cruz Island. You are free to spend your day as you choose while on the island. Options include various hikes, snorkeling, kayaking, bird watching or just relaxing on this beautiful island. Jim Dinges, club member and island naturalist will lead an informative hike for those interested. Here are a few important details if you are planning to attend:
REGISTRATION: You must register directly with Island Packers Ventura, on their website, for your trip. You will need to choose both your ticket from Ventura Harbor to Scorpion Cove (on Santa Cruz island) as well as your return trip ticket for that same afternoon from Scorpion Cove to Ventura Harbor.
REGISTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE: There are no "reserved seats" for CIBike members. All seats are open to the general public. Therefore, it is important that you secure your tickets. CIBike cannot guarantee how long open seats will be available for this date.
COST: Adults > 55 years $65; <55 years $70 Purchase tickets directly with Island Packers; CIBike will not have tickets available for you. TIME: The boat departs at 9:00 AM from Ventura Harbor. OFFICE OPENS 1 HOUR EARLIER. You must arrive early in order to pick up your ticket(s) and get in line for boat entry. The return trip departs Scorpion Cove at 4:30 PM. FOOD: Bring your own lunch, drinks and any snacks you will need. There is no food service on the island. Potable water is available on the island. There are limited snacks and drinks that can be purchased during the boat ride.
