This path has been adopted by CIBike and CalTrans doesn't seem to have any imminent clean-up plans.
So, a coalition of the willing will assemble at the Emma Wood State Beach entrance station at 9am on Friday to shovel the bike path. We will focus our efforts on removing the sand that narrows the bike path.
If you have a shovel and/or push broom, please bring them.
Thanks,
Kate
Kate,
I am afraid that would be a wasted effort. The reason: drainage from the hill side of the bike path is directed right into the bike trail. Unless CalTrans, or whomsoever responsible party, corrects drainage issue the sand will keep flowing!
Soheil
Soheil,
The drainage has not occurred for several weeks. The sand was dry AND is now gone (Thank you Jim Teshima and Terry Dawson for your help in the clean-up).
Maybe the drainage will start again. Maybe it won't. Until then, we once again have the full width of the bike path for our use.
